Venetian Plaster Feature Wall

The Client’s Request

The project involved a luxury home with a large, double-height wall spanning two floors, located along the staircase connecting the first and second levels.

Originally, the client planned to place a large artwork on the wall, but after searching for a long time, nothing felt right.
Instead of covering the wall, he wanted to turn the wall itself into the statement.

That’s when the client approached us to explore a custom solution.

The Starting Point

The wall was completely white, clean, but visually empty.
Due to its size and height, the wall felt dominant in the space, yet lacked character.

Because the staircase is built with modern, floating steps attached directly to the wall, the challenge was not only aesthetic, but also highly technical.

Our Solution – Venetian Plaster

We proposed transforming the wall into a Venetian Plaster feature wall, turning a plain surface into a refined architectural element.

Venetian Plaster allowed us to:

  • Add depth, texture, and movement
  • Create a timeless, artistic finish
  • Elevate the space without adding objects or artwork

The wall itself became the design feature.

Execution & Technical Complexity

Although the result appears as one continuous wall, the execution was far from simple.

  • The wall spans two floors and reaches significant height
  • Work had to be performed between and around the floating staircase, without damaging or staining the steps
  • The staircase was fully wrapped and protected throughout the process
  • A lift was required to safely access the upper sections of the wall
  • Every stage of the work demanded precision, patience, and careful coordination

The project required a clean, controlled work environment and meticulous attention to detail.

The Result

What was once a plain white wall is now a central architectural element of the home.

  • The Venetian Plaster finish flows seamlessly along the full height of the wall
  • The texture interacts beautifully with natural and artificial light
  • The wall enhances the staircase rather than competing with it
  • The space feels cohesive, elegant, and intentional

Project Summary

This project shows how a single wall, when treated correctly, can transform an entire space.

What appears to be a simple surface is, in reality, a highly complex execution, combining craftsmanship, planning, and architectural sensitivity.

The result is a timeless feature wall that replaces artwork and becomes part of the home’s identity.
